The mission of the Cannabis Media Collective (CMC) is to elevate cannabis wellness, educate consumers and practitioners, and empower entrepreneurs. CMC aims to accomplish this by creating a platform to share groundbreaking content produced by medical professionals, industry leaders, brands, and manufacturers. CMC is the new home for global cannabis creators to distribute knowledge, share innovation, and create a paradigm shift in the cannabis space.

The Founder

Michael Lawson, Jr is a mental health professional, entrepreneur and cannabis advocate whose vision is to educate, empower, and change the global cannabis narrative.  Michael has experience as a cultivator, legacy caregiver, and mental health clinician. 

Michael is also a Los Angeles native who witnessed the evolution of the cannabis industry with the passage of California Proposition 215 which permitted the use of medical cannabis. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. While studying clinical mental health counseling in 2011 Michael discovered the Endocannabinoid System and developed a deeper understanding of the therapeutic value of the cannabis plant.  Michael soon realized the majority of medical professionals, consumers, and cannabis manufacturers were not familiar with contemporary science behind medical cannabis. In 2020 Michael founded CMC to elevate the science of cannabis wellness, educate citizens, and empower cannabis entrepreneurs.
